How To Recover Lost Wi-Fi Password Via Router

If you do not have a Windows or Mac computer in which the Wi-Fi password is saved or you are trying to get the password through your phone or tablet then you can search saved passwords through the router. Obviously this will work only when you are connected to the router's network. Remember that you can also connect the router via the Ethernet cable

Tablet and mobile phones as long as Wi-Fi You will not be able to know the password if you are not connected to the network.

These steps can be slightly different from each router. If you tamper with the wrong settings the entire network will be jammed. So you go ahead at your own risk:-

STEP 1:-

First open the browser and go to the router's local address. In general this is http://192.168.1.1 although the URL depends on the router's brand too so look for the correct address manually or look at the official website.

STEP 2:-

Enter Username and Password. And it will also be different for different companies. You can also change the password and also do this. However as the default the username and password are administered in the router given by BSNL and Airtel. At the same time there is a default password password in other routers. If this combination does not work then you need to contact your router's manufacturer or internet service provider.

STEP 3:-

First click on Internet then on Wireless In some router the option of wireless is available on the main screen. In this section you will be able to see Security Type (WPA WEP) and Key. In some router these options are inside the Security tab.

A Wi-Fi network password is available in the box next to the key field. and on many router it is available in plain text so you have to note it.

IF ALL METHODS NOT WORK THEN ?

If no solution does not work then you may have to reset the router. Do not do this until you can connect any device to the network. Resetting the router is the last resort because after that you have to reset the entire network again to restore the internet connection. If you do not know about it then we would suggest that you contact your Internet Service Provider.

We can not give you a precise guide for this because it is different depending on the manufacturer of the router. Before doing this you should check your router's user manual. There is a reset switch in every router. Some routers have a very small button so in some these buttons are hidden in a small hole (it can be pressed through a paper clip). To reset the router this switch has to be pressed for a while. From the flashing lights made on the router you will know that it was reset.

Once this is done wait for the router to start over again and then setup the network. The steps to follow this process will depend on your Internet service provider (ISP) so we suggested to contact the service provider to reset the router.

You can recover saved Wi-Fi passwords this way. If you know any other way tell us through the comments box made in the bottom.
